An entrepreneur was stunned when a blockage in his pipes turned out to be a hose in a drain.
Staff at the Pershore High Street store in Worcestershire previously thought the drain was simply clogged with leaves.
Fortunately, Hinton Pest Control came to the rescue.
In a statement, the company said: ‘We are on call during the holiday season and we received a call from a local business owner who initially thought they had a problem with their gutter and downspout.
“They didn’t know what to do, so they called us and we were able to get down and get him safely into the pillow.”
Footage shows the terrifying moment when the creature was caught after sliding up a drainpipe.
After being rescued, the snake was taken to a vet to see if it was microchipped.
Hinton Pest Control added: ‘We took him to De Montfort Veterinary Surgery in Pershore and found he was not microchipped.
“He was in good health, apart from being slightly underweight.
“We are now reuniting him with his owner.”
The snake in the drain came after a snake was spotted on a train.
In the latter case it was reptile found on a carriage traveling through South East England.
It was seen by staff at the Selhurst Train Depot in Croydon, South London, sliding past the carriage of a Southern Rail train.
The service had been traveling between London, Kent and Sussex for weeks until the unexpected stowaway was discovered.
