The Raw after WrestleMania ended on a shock note as Brock Lesnar turned on Cody Rhodes and knocked him down in a brutal beating.
The Beast Incarnate was staged at the start of the highly anticipated WWE show and offered to team up with the American Nightmare in the main event after a fun back and forth between Cody, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman.
However, when the time came, Brock immediately hoisted him up and dropped him with an F-5 before dragging him around ringside to continue the beatdown and send him through the announce table.
Back in the ring, he dropped another F-5 onto the steel steps, and after he left, returned one more time to stab both middle fingers at Cody and the camera to end the show on a surprise note.
The night opened with Hall of Famer Triple H coming down to thank everyone involved making WrestleMania such a successbefore referring to the news of the sale to Endeavor and merger with UFC and insisting that the WWE everyone knows and loves isn’t going anywhere.
After the early promo to set up what was to be the main event, Omos looked strong in the first match of the night as he beat Elias in a close, easy match to rebuild the Nigerian Giant’s momentum after his loss to Lesnar on the weekend.
Rey Mysterio came out, only to be interrupted by Austin Theory, with the United States Champion talking nonsense about both Cena and the masked Hall of Famer, leading to a match between the two.
They worked well together and built up to a very fun match until Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest created a distraction, giving Theory the win.
The Judgment Day duo attacked Rey after the bell and exchanged words with Bad Bunny until the Backlash host punched Dom in the face.
The Archer of Infamy then pulled his friend over the barricade and laid him down, before sending him through the announce table with a massive chokeslam.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn received a fantastic ovation as they came out to celebrate their Unified WWE Tag Team title victory over The Usos, challenging any team looking to make a name for themselves.
After winning Saturday’s tag team showcase, the Street Profits answered the call, with KO, Sami, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford working well together until the new champions won with a combination of Stunner and Helluva Kick.
After teasing a future match against Bronson Reed, Bobby Lashely ended up facing Mustafa Ali instead – dismantling him in no time, while Seth Rollins came out and led the crowd in a sing-along of his theme before walking out without incident left.
In a cool moment, Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Title celebration was interrupted by her SmackDown counterpart Rhea Ripley as they teased a blockbuster match down the line.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez earned a Women’s Tag Team title shot against Lita and Becky Lynch by defeating Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, though it felt like the latter pair could have really used some momentum after losing their tag to six women on Saturday night.
The show also features the return of Matt Riddle, who delivered another unfortunate surprise to The Miz and put him down.
WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1pm on BT Sport.
