I always have loved Star Wars. I spent the first Christmas I can remember flying Luke and his X-wing around the house. I met Darth Vader (David Prowse) when I was six. I can still feel the shudder of fear as he walked through the double doors and reached across the crowd to shake my hand as my father held me up. I never wondered why the Dark Lord of the Sith was in Woolworths.
When I became a father, I had a new excuse to visit that galaxy far, far away and buy new toys. (I still regret selling my own movie at a garage sale to raise money for our first house.) My wife and I love the original movies, our kids prefer the prequel trilogy , but we all enjoyed watching the latest shows together. Since everyone knows I'm a fan, I've received (and given) a lot of Star Wars gifts over the years. These are some of my favorites.
