Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) recently told her mother: Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) that she was raped in Coronation Street.
The character spent the evening with Aaron (James Craven) a few weeks ago, getting drunk and enjoying each other’s company.
However, when Amy said she was drunk and feeling unwell, she climbed into bed and eventually passed out.
Aaron then got in next to her, kissed her and proceeded to have sex – despite Amy being unable to consent.
The aftermath was confusing and overwhelming for Amy. She initially confronted Aaron and said he raped her, but Aaron refused accept Amy’s version of events, claiming they both wanted to have sex.
This week, as Amy struggled with the weight of it all, she told Summer (Harriet Bibby) the truth and soon after her mother.
Tracy arrives and takes matters into her own hands and starts putting up flyers about Aaron.
When Mary (Patti Clare) finds one on the printer at the flower shop, Abi (Sally Carman) realizes the truth and confronts Aaron.
Meanwhile, Tracy calls the police station and glues herself to the desk, explaining to the sergeant that she’s not going anywhere until they take Amy’s rape allegation seriously.
When she realizes that people know about her ordeal, Amy joins Steve (Simon Gregson) as they head to the station.
When they get there, they find Tracy about to give an interview to Suki, the Gazette’s reporter.
Amy begs her mother not to continue, but what will Tracy do?
