Apple is rolling out the fifth visionOS 1.2 beta

Developers can now download and install the fifth beta of visionOS 1.2 on their Apple VisionPro to try out.

The fifth beta build visionOS 1.2 comes after the fourth, which Apple released 30th of April. The third was issued on April 24the second was on April 16while the first appeared on April 2.

The fifth build is build number 21O5587a and replaces the fourth beta, build number 21O5580a.

In the second build, the release notes mentioned that there were changes to fix an issue FaceTime call sync, as well as notification pausing issues for some apps.

Users will need a registered Apple developer account to access the beta version of visionOS, but this can be a free account instead of a paid version. Installation on the Apple Vision Pro hardware itself is fairly straightforward once the account has been purchased.

How to install the visionOS beta on Apple Vision Pro

  1. Open Institutions
  2. Select General.
  3. Switch Beta updates
  4. Select visionOS developer beta.

Developers can also use the updated visionOS beta Xcodein its visionOS simulator.

Please note that there is currently no process for returning from a beta version of visionOS to a release version, unless you happen to be in possession of a developer belt. As such, AppleInsider does not recommend use of the visionOS beta by non-developers at this time.
