Awkward moment, irate Tom Brady snaps at roast master Jeff Ross over Robert Kraft massage joke at Netflix roast, with fans comparing it to Will Smith's Oscars slam: 'Don't say that s*** again'

Tom Brady volunteered for a roast, but America's 'Roastmaster General' Jeff Ross made an attempt to which the quarterback made an exception.

In Netflix's live production of the “Greatest Roast of All Time,” Ross delivered a line referencing the time Brady introduced himself to the Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

“Tom became a Patriot, moved to New England, and on the first day of training camp that skinny rookie walked into owner Robert Kraft's office and said, 'I'm the best decision your organization has ever made…' you loves a massage,” Ross joked.

There was laughter from the audience, but Brady didn't seem fazed by the joke and walked over to Ross in the middle of his set.

“Don't say that again,” Brady said with a smile, his hand poorly covering the microphone.

The joke involved a fake scenario in which Brady asked Kraft if he wanted a massage

That joke, of course, was a reference to when Kraft was one of 25 people charged in February 2019 with soliciting prostitution at a Florida spa.

Kraft pleaded not guilty. The charges were later dropped in September 2019 after a Florida appeals court ruled that his constitutional rights had been violated.

That's because Kraft's lawyers revealed that hidden cameras had been installed in the spa before Kraft visited under the guise of responding to a bomb threat.

“I am truly sorry,” Kraft said in a March 2019 statement about the case. “I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my colleagues, our fans and many others who rightly raised me to a higher level.

'All my life I have always tried to do the right thing. The last thing I would ever want to do is disrespect another human being.

“…As I move forward, I hope to continue using the platform I have been blessed with to help others and try to make a difference. I don't expect to be judged by my words, but by my actions. And through these actions, I hope to regain your trust and respect.”

Reactions on social media seemed to be in Ross' favor, with some saying the incident felt like it would turn into a sequel to Will Smith's slap on Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Ross wasn't the only person to roast Brady. Several comedians – including Kevin Hart, Nikki Glaser and Bert Kreischer – took the stage.

So did some of Brady's former teammates, such as Drew Bledsoe, Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman.

Edelman also made a joke at Kraft's expense. He said, “I think the next time I see you all will be at Kraft's funeral.”

Among the many topics for jokes were Brady's divorce from Gisele Bündchen, the Patriots' many cheating scandals, his sexuality and his appearance.

Kim Kardashian, who was once rumored to be dating Brady, toasted the roast.

“I know there were rumors that Tom and I were dating and I would never say if we were or not, I would just release the tape,” she opened, poking fun at her leaked sex tape with Ray J.

“But I know it would never work,” she continued. “An ex-athlete, high cheekbones, silky hair… you remind me too much of my stepfather right now. Part of me thinks you would want to undress me just to try on my clothes.”

Later in the evening, Bill Belichick made a surprise appearance after rumors suggested he wouldn't show up.

“I'm so honored to be here for the Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix, not to be confused with the Roast of Bill Belichick in the 10-part Apple doc,” Belichick joked, referencing the Apple documentary series “The Dynasty” .

At the end of Rob Gronkowski's set, the former Patriots tight end joked that he never had a drink with Brady and Belichick — before the three all took a shot of alcohol together.
