Baldur's Gate 3 is not coming to iPad or iPhone

There was a rumor going around that the massive Dungeons and Dragons adventure game “Baldur's Gate 3” was coming to the iPad, but that has since been squashed by the publisher.

Apple is doing what it can on the hardware front to attract AAA game developers to Mac, iPad and iPhone. Things have gone this far with the development of a game porting kit that has been co-opted by enterprising users to port virtually everything running on Windows to Apple Silicon, albeit unofficially.

And a few days ago, rumors started circulating that it would come to the iPad in early 2025. However, that rumor seems to have missed its saving throw against death, with the fatal blow delivered by the head of Larian Studios' publishing house himself.

The system requirements are relatively modest, requiring only an M1 with 8GB to play, but an M1 Pro or better is recommended. The storage requirements are less modest, as the disk space is 150 GB – and it must be SSD storage.
