Best TV mounting options: stands, wall brackets, corner brackets, electrical brackets

A result of recent hot deals on HDTVs even two-for-one TV dealsyou may be facing a dilemma that has existed since the beginning of the flat screen era: where are you going to mount that thing?

Of course, editing is not for everyone. All HDTV sets come with a stand or legs to place the set on an entertainment cabinet or other flat surface. If you don't mind hanging your set on the wall, in a setup that can be moved, or in a newer variation of wall mounting, then a standing approach is fine.

But if you really want to get that off the ground, you might be surprised by some of the newer options that have emerged since the last time you did this.

How to approach wall mounting

The wide world of wall mounts starts with the assumption that your new television is VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) compliant. guidelines for where there are threaded holes on the back of your TV or monitor. If you've only ever used standard TV mounts, you might be surprised at how convenient it is to be able to move your giant TV to avoid glare at certain times of the day, or pull it toward you for a better view in a large room.

MantelMount's MM815 can raise and lower via remote control and offers 26 inches of height adjustment. Please note that these motorized mounts require an electrical outlet in order to function.

If you are trying to place a TV in a room that is not a flat surface, it will corner TV brackets available also. For HDTVs mounted above a fireplace, so-called “pull-down” confirmations that can be lowered when the fireplace is not in use is another option.
