Body of Joop Sparkes, missing British tourist, found in Prague river | British news

Joop Sparkes was last seen jumping from a party boat into the Vltava River in the Czech capital

The family of a 29-year-old British tourist who went missing Prague confirmed last month that a body found in a river by Czech police was his.

Joop Sparkes, from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, was last seen in the early hours of April 27 when he jumped from a party boat into the River Vltava.

The Daily mirror quoted his sister Jodie Wilson as saying: “The body recovered from the water last night has been confirmed as Joop.

“We are all heartbroken and this was not the outcome we had hoped for, but as we promised, we are bringing our boy home.

'We love you to the moon and back Joopster and you have left the biggest hole ever in our hearts. Rest in peace, baby.”
