Agents of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command foiled an armed robbery in Kapuwa, in the Lugbe area of Abuja, on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Police spokesman DSP Josephine Adeh, who made the announcement in a statement on Friday, July 8, said it had recovered stolen items and left the criminals with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.
“Operator of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, attached to the Lugbe Divisional Police Headquarters in the early hours of today July 8, 2022, promptly responded to an emergency call that thwarted an armed robbery, recovered stolen items and put on a criminal tail. between their legs with varying degrees of gunshot wounds in Kapuwa, Lugbe area of the FCT,” the statement read.
“The above followed the receipt of a distress call at 0200 hrs today at the Lugbe Division Police Headquarters which a 15-strong armed robbery gang was operating at a compound in Kapuwa,”
“Tactical and on-duty intelligence agencies quickly arrived on the scene and gave a hot chase to the criminals who at the time had successfully gained entry and removed personal belongings from the said house and were on the run.
“Seeing the brave and aggressive advance of the team, the criminals engaged them in a firefight, but couldn’t compete with the team’s superior firepower. They withdrew with varying degrees of injuries, while the police recovered every effect that had been removed initially

“The stolen and recovered items are; A Honda Accord with REG NO. BWR778BK, Peugeot 307 with REG-NR.
