Darwin Nunez has fueled speculation about his Liverpool future after deleting all photos of the club on his computer Instagram bill on Sunday evening.

The 24-year-old has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season but has come under fire from pundits and Liverpool supporters for his inconsistency in front of goal.

Nunez, who was signed from Benfica for £85m in June 2022, has four years left on his Liverpool contract and has been linked with a move to Barcelona this weekend.

Liverpool supporters are now concerned that this could be Nunez's last season at Anfield after discovering late on Sunday night that the Uruguay international had deleted all photos of himself playing for Liverpool from his official Instagram page.

All that remained were family photos and those of his matches he played for Benfica and the Uruguay national team.

Nunez has started as a substitute for Liverpool's last two Premier League games and has scored just one goal in his last 11 appearances in all competitions.

In his last start for Liverpool, Nunez missed an excellent chance to equalize against Everton before Sean Dyche's side recorded a 2-0 victory at Goodison Park.

During his analysis, Jamie Carragher described the miss as 'inexcusable' and questioned the striker's long-term suitability for Liverpool.

'The chance that Nunez misses before half time is inexcusable at this level. That is not acceptable at this level, especially if Liverpool is going for the title,” said Carragher.

“I think there's a question that needs to be asked. You want him to do well because there is so much that you like, because he gives everything, he runs and causes problems and occasionally gets a goal and gets an assist.

'But after two years of Liverpool going to the title this season and those big games, you need your man to score at Old Trafford, away at Goodison, in the European game against Atalanta. There's no time to waste, this isn't October or November. This is the business end.

'When it comes to Nunez and where the club is going now, we've all been in squads where someone comes in and maybe you talk about the first year and maybe you say, okay, he's getting up to speed and he's improving, and it seemed insisting he was at the start of the season. But it has come to a standstill.”
