Dillon Ray reacts in Hollyoaks – as Lucas Hay approaches him | Soaps

Hollyoaks Spoilers follow for Monday's episode (May 6). available to view now on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m.

Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) bravely came out to best friend Dillon Ray ( Nathaniel Dass ) as he started to come to terms with who he is.

The teen, as viewers know, fell for Dillon months ago, but what could have… heartwarming story about young love and self-acceptance was poisoned by Carter Shepherd (David Ames), who preyed on the confused Lucas.

The director, who was struggling with his own sexuality, tried to manipulate Lucas into thinking that creature homo is wrong, with serious consequences for the young boy's mental health as he self-harmed.

The conversion therapy plot reached a dramatic peak last week with Carter eventually arrested by the authorities at Pride after he tried to kidnap Lucas.

Dillon, meanwhile, confessed his love for Lucas, who answered with violence, completely confused thanks to Carter's disgusting teachings. Lucas then confessed his love for the unconscious Dillon and injured himself both boys ran to the hospital.

Ste (Kieron Richardson) was shocked to hear what his young son had gone through and, realizing he was struggling with his sexuality, urged Lucas to be open and honest about who he is, and told him how liberating coming out can be are.

In emotional scenes, Lucas confirmed his feelings for Dillon and came bravely to his fatherwho gave him the biggest hug of all.

In the following episode, Ste returned home with Lucas to Weirside View, but there was soon much conflict in the household, with James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) confirming Ste's upcoming court case in front of the children.

Meanwhile, Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demircan) refused to give Ste the time of day and stormed out. In an attempt to make amends with Leah, Ste urged Lucas to go to Dillon and apologize for what happened.

Lucas followed his father's advice and went to 67 Christledon Terrace, where he came face to face with Dillon for the first time since the attack.

The schoolboy apologized for what he had done and expressed regret for the use of force. Dillon, who has refrained from reporting Lucas to the policewas as sweet as ever and forgave him in an instant.

There was a moment of silence as Lucas worked up the courage to come out to his best friend, who he has feelings for.

“Dillon, I'm gay!” he exclaimed. Dillon was surprised because he didn't expect Lucas to open up and be honest about who he is so quickly, after everything he's been through.

“It still feels weird saying it out loud,” Lucas continued. “But I feel like me. And that's because of you'.

Dillon smiled, glad he could help. “Are we okay?”, he replied and after a long look, Lucas returned the smile with his own. 'Always.'

The two boys then held hands as a sign of their strong bond as they continued to stare into each other's eyes. A sign of things to come? Is happiness finally within reach for the two?
