Dockless Google Pixel Tablet is available to order now for $399

We first heard about it last month Google is relaunching its Pixel Tablet so without the included speaker dock its alleged price has been leaked. Today, next to the surprising announcement of the Pixel 8a smartphone, Google has also confirmed these rumors.

You can get it now the Pixel tablet without the dock, and at a significant discount no less. With dock the tablet costs $499, but you can now order one without a dock for $399. That's for the version with 128 GB of storage, if you want 256 GB it will cost $499.

If you find the dock useful, this obviously won't make any difference to you, but we suspect many people would happily accept the $100 price cut instead. If you order a dockless Pixel Tablet today, Google says you can expect it to arrive at your home in the US starting May 14.

Why it took so long for Google to offer this dockless option for its tablet is beyond us, but it's finally happening. In the United Kingdomthe price is £399 for 128GB storage and £519 for 256GB, while in the EU it's €499 for 128GB and €619 for 256GB (those prices are still £100/€100 less than with the dock, by the way).

Docklessness aside, this is the same Pixel Tablet that's been available since last June, with a 10.95-inch 1600×2560 LCD touchscreen, the Tensor G2 chipset, 8GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera, and an 8MP camera on the front and a 7,020 mAh battery with 15W wired charging support.
