The future of Lizzie Chen-Williams (Lily Best) continues Hollyoaks has been the subject of much discussion for weeks.

The beloved character is currently at the center of a major storyline that only kicked off last week after she told Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) that she planned to track down the child she gave birth to at 16.

But despite this, fans are afraid that Lizzie would be deregistered of the Channel 4 soap after actress Lily Best gave an ambiguous answer about her future after the cast cuts.

The long-running serial drama does reducing the weekly episodes from five to three Come September, with some actors – included the Stephanie Waring – set to be abolished to facilitate the move.

Lizzie features hitting the screen this week while father Dave Chen-Williams (Dominic Power) marries Cindy, but things take a devastating turn on the dance floor, with Lizzie collapsing after taking dodgy drugs.

But can she keep it up? Or is this the end of the road for Lizzie?

I have the answers, but be warned: important spoilers ahead.

Does Lizzie Chen-Williams die in Hollyoaks and Lily Best leave?

Yes, Lizzie dies in Hollyoaks.

The character collapses into father Dave's arms after a heartfelt moment with him. It comes shortly after she takes drugs from Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith), unaware that they were unreliable.

Dave begs for help as Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) comforts him, while Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) desperately tries to revive her friend.

The ambulance crew then arrive, but to no avail. Lizzie has died, ending actress Lily Best's two-year stint on the show.

The tragic demise will send shockwaves through the village, with Dilly, Zoe, Prince and Hunter McQueen (Malique Thomson-Dwyer and Theo Graham) fearing the worst as they have also taken the drugs in question.

And as for the Chen-Williams?

Dave inevitably takes the news hard, while Ethan is determined to be by his side to support him – but he expects conflict Enoughespecially in regards to Cindy, who struggles to know how to support her new husband.

Lizzie isn't the only big exit Hollyoaks is set to rock; Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) will also be leaving in upcoming scenes.

Metro also confirmed that Zain Rizwaan (Jonas Khan) is set to shut downas does Cindy Cunningham, with Steph Waring confirmed something like this last month.

It's all change at Hollyoaks, which is going through one of the best periods in recent history.
