Warning: Spoilers ahead for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 4 episode 1.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK viewers felt a little uneasy after the host’s phrase “her majesty done already done hers” was left unchanged after the queen’s death.

Season four of the competition is officially here, with a brand new group of queens preparing to fight for the crown.

Since season one, the queens have been receiving challenges via video messages, with an exclamation of, “Her Majesty ready had herses,” an interpretation of Ru’s catchphrase, “She done already done had herses.”

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, some had wondered if the phrase would be changed, but it aired unchanged in episode one.

“Like they didn’t change anything Her Majesty already did hers,” tweeted one viewer, while another added: “Can’t believe they kept the voiceover of ‘Her Majesty already did hers’.”

‘That ‘Her Majesty had already done herses’ definitely makes a different point now…’ another said, adding, ‘I just realized they’ve kept the ‘Her Majesty’ rule in #DragRaceUK.’

The series is pre-recorded and filmed months before the Queen’s death.

During episode one, competitors were immediately thrown in at the deep end, participated in a Spice Girlsthemed photoshoot from the start before delivering two catwalk looks, the first inspired by the BBC’s 100th anniversary and the second a showcase of their signature drag.

In the end, after landing in the bottom two against Dakota Schiffer, Just May became the first queen to be told by head judge RuPaul to leave after losing in the lip sync, which was set to Mabel’s Let Them Know.

Speaking of Just May’s efforts, guest judge Dame Joanna Lumley said, “She hadn’t achieved glamor in her ‘Ru Are Ya’ look. It was sweet, but not glamorous.’

After learning she was the first queen to be removed from the competition, Just May said it felt “iconic” to be the first after she left Geri Halliwell with the Spice Girls.

Speaking of her experience with the show, Just May said that while it was “short and sweet,” she “loved every moment.”

“I’ve always been a huge fan of the show, so to be a part of myself was an incredible experience!” she said, also adding that “everyone remembers the first queen eliminated.”
