CREWE ALEXANDRA fans were left devastated when the club announced a change to the food menu ahead of the play-off semi-final against Doncaster.
Crewe are scheduled to meet Rovers at Gresty Road later today in a crucial first leg, before Friday's return fixture at the Eco-Power Stadium.
However, during that important meeting there will be a change in the selection of cakes and pastries.
The club apologized to fans and stressed that the last-minute change was due to “circumstances beyond their control”.
Crewe issued the following statement: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, there has been a change to the selection of cakes and pastries available for purchase at today's match.
“We thank the supporters for their understanding.”
The fans were so heartbroken that some even jokingly suggested they should “postpone” the important match. Doncaster.
One fan tweeted: “You might as well call it off guys.”
Another commented: “Postpone the game guys.”
A third said: “Just kidding, there's no room for it in the modern game at all!”
This fan posted: “I thought the game was over at the time!”

The winner of the play-off match will face both Crawley town or MK Dons in the final on May 19 at Wembley.
