Elf's Camo Liquid Blush Is the Best Rare Beauty Pinch Blush Dupe I've Found — Here's Why I Love the Budget Alternative

RARE BEAUTY had us in its grip the moment Selena Gomez launched her beauty brand.

Although the beauty label took a while longer to launch in the UK after it launched in the US, it has seen sell-out success, especially its Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes.

We love a dupe!

Rare beauty's Soft Pinch Liquid Blush retails for £22 and is available from various retailers including Rare beauty's main website, Sephora, Space NKAnd Feel unique.

But if you're looking for an affordable alternative to shop for instead of spending over £20 on the Rare Beauty blusher, elf cosmetics has a very similar dupe, which has received our quality mark.

The elf cosmetics Camo liquid blush is an affordable alternative to the Rare Beauty design, available for just £7 from Superdrug.

We put both products to the test and can vouch for how similar they are.

It is easy to blend, but there is a little less product in it, although you wouldn't be able to tell

The Rare Beauty blushers are divided into dewy shades, including Joy, Happy, Lucky, Grateful, Hope, Encourage, Believe, Worth and Virtue, as well as matte shades Bliss, Love, Grace and Faith.

The liquid blushers are formulated with floral ingredients, including white water lily, gardenia and lotus, for a lightweight yet flawless finish and powerful color pigment.

Rare Beauty's blusher is also cruelty-free, paraben-free and vegan.

In addition, it is dermatologically tested and approved for sensitive skin.

In the same way, elf cosmetics is proud to share the same environmentally conscious sentiment, as it is also a vegan and cruelty-free brand.

The elf cosmetics Camo Liquid Blush is also a liquid formula – hence the name – and also has a strong pigment.

Although it may not come in as many shades Rare beautyit comes close because the blusher comes in nine shades, which are very similar to those from Rare Beauty.

The Rare Beauty blusher looks bold and deep in color, but lays more naturally on my cheeks

So how do they compare? In short – very similar.

We saw a lot of reviews from shoppers who thought the elf cosmetics product was a good copy of Rare Beauty, so we had to put it to the test.

First: rare beauty.

I've tried countless Rare Beauty products and I'm completely obsessed with the brand and every product I've tried. The Liquid Blushers glide seamlessly over the skin and inject a much-needed pop of color into my skin.

The Rare Beauty blushers are pigmented and a little goes a long way, but they are also buildable, which is great for days when you want to “look alive” and fresh-faced. It will be my only makeup product, but for more glam occasions where I dab a little extra on.

Although the elf blushers look almost neon, they are super subtle and easy to blend, yet long lasting

The elf Camo liquid blush it's the same.

It has a stronger pigment than Rare beautyand a little goes a long way, which is perfect for those who don't want to splurge on new makeup every month.

Both formulas feel light on the skin and give a second-skin feeling, almost as if I were wearing nothing at all.

Both products are equally easy to blend, on bare skin, over moisturizer and even over a full makeup base.

But when I tried to apply the liquid blushers over a powder bronzer, it didn't sit particularly well and was patchy.

elf cosmetics has a range of shades that look extremely vibrant, but don't fear as they are more muted when blended onto the skin but still contain great pigment

While Rare Beauty has more shades to choose from, and some of them colors of elves they look extremely vibrant, they fade into a natural shade – so don't be put off by the original packaging.

I apply just two to three dollops to my cheeks and blend the excess onto my eyelids, either with a brush or my fingers.

What I did notice was that those two or three dabs were enough Elf's Camo Blusherwhile Rare beauty version needed a little touch up depending on the color you choose and the look you want.

I prefer a subtle pop of color, almost like a little pink blush, but I found that blending the Rare Beauty blushers, even though they are pigmented when first applied, seems to blend the color slightly, so you needs to add more.

That said, the applicators are large, so I found that applying two dots, blending, then applying a few more coats and repeating the process was best for Rare Beauty blushers.

While the Rare Beauty blushers are bold and have strong pigment, if you want a more visible blush like I do, I would recommend going for a deeper or bolder shade than you normally would, to make that color more visible.

Unfortunately, I found that the Rare Beauty blusher slipped and faded throughout the day, while elf cosmetics lasted longer on my skin.

Both products aren't sticky or greasy, although the Rare Beauty blusher I sampled had a more velvety finish, while Elf cosmetics has a dewy look.

Yes, you get more formula in the Rare Beauty 7.5ml blushers, while Elf's Camo liquid blushers are 4 ml, but as I said before, a little goes a long way, so both products can last for months.

If you're looking for an affordable Rare Beauty Blush dupe, you can't go far wrong Elf's Camo liquid blush in my opinion.
