When Ella Forster (Paula Lane) arrived in Emmerdale it seemed like she was just a nice person. She was smart, bubbly and funny and was always ready to stand up for people she thought were having a hard time.
Her In the debut episode, she supported her Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) when she was humiliated at a party by an annoying man – even though the annoying man was Ella's boss at the time.
She also turns out to be a good friend of Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) also confided in her.
Romance soon blossomed with her colleague at Brook Cottage Surgery, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) – and we started to see a few clues that Ella might not be as nice as she seemed.
When the relationship with Liam started he was in two minds about it as he had previously had a small affair with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and was quite in love with her. It soon became clear that Ella was jealous of Chas and she looked clearly unhappy when she saw Liam and Chas just a moment together.
There is even speculation that Ella could have a connection to Emmerdale's archvillain Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).
We heard her talk about a former friend who was a nurse – like Meena – who encouraged her to go into nursing. Could she have been talking about Meena?
Whatever the truth about her past, there's no doubt that secrets will soon be revealed. As Liam and Ella grow closer, hiding aspects of her history will prove increasingly difficult.
In episodes airing soon, we'll see Ella become overwhelmed by the progress of the relationship as it becomes harder to keep secrets from Liam.

Footage from on-location shooting has revealed that there's a lot to expect from Ella as it shows her getting thrown into a huge situation confrontation at a funeral for someone named June Phillips.
Liam is also involved because there is a confrontation between him and one of the mourners, and then Ella gets involved as well.
