Emmerdale spoilers: Marlon and Rhona get married in beautiful scenes | soaps

The special day is almost here (Pictures: ITV)

While Marlon (Mark Charnock) has recovered from his stroke at Emmerdale, there have been many touching moments. From the early days after the stroke when he could barely communicate and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) was almost too scared to visit him, to heartwarming scenes with April (Amelia Flanagan) after he first came home, there have been so many scenes where Marlon’s sweet, funny character became apparent even as he struggled with the scary realities of his disabilities, thanks to a heartwarming and vulnerable performance by Mark Charnock.

Even before the stroke, Rhona (Zoe Henry) and Marlon were a lovely couple who had made several thwarted attempts to propose to each other. Since the devastating day their world changed forever, Rhona has been by Marlon’s side and their love is stronger than ever.

So many tears will be shed when they finally tie the knot in the upcoming episodes. Stock up on tissues as the scenes are very emotional.

Marlon had planned to walk down the aisle to his bride, but unfortunately that doesn’t happen in the end as he falls the night before the wedding and has to spend a night in the hospital.

This means that Rhona has to wait at the church, wondering if he will show up and worrying that something has happened to him – because at his insistence he has been kept in the dark about Marlon’s trip to the hospital.

When Marlon finally shows up, Paddy pushes him into a specially decorated wheelchair.

As the couple exchange their wedding vows, their family and friends who have gathered for the occasion are extremely emotional — and so are you.

Revealing the reaction of filming these special scenes, Zoe Henry told us, ‘I don’t know anyone from the cast and crew, but we were emotional!

“The script was by Caroline Mitchell and she’s a favorite of both of us and she writes in a very emotional way, so I think the emotion came naturally to both of us when it was needed.”

‘It was quite an intense atmosphere’, adds Mark.

“Caroline had written this intense script and there were intense stories everywhere, so many stories in the second ep. So when I read it, I noticed it was relentless all the way through. The Faith stuff is incredible, including Priya’s story. So yes, it was very easy to get there.’
