Fabio Capello has accused Kalidou Koulibaly of playing with ‘no personality’ following his move to Chelsea.

The Senegal international joined Chelsea this summer in a €40 million (£33.8 million) deal.

Koulibaly was integral to Napoli’s success during his eight seasons with the Italian club, helping Chelsea keep a clean sheet in their 3-0 win over AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

But Capello believes the 31-year-old has not yet reached the same standard as at Napoli.

‘Bee Chelsea he has no personality,” said Capello air sports Italy.

“When he has the ball at his feet, he hesitates. He doesn’t play fast, he doesn’t do what he did at Napoli.

“At Napoli he commanded, he came forward, he made long passes, now he has the ball between his feet, he doesn’t know who to pass and he always plays passes to someone just a few meters away.

“Actually, he surprises me. I thought he had a great personality and for Chelsea he would be very important and explode immediately. And yet, right now, he isn’t.’

Meanwhile, Graham Potter admits he is ‘concerned’ about Wesley Fofana after he was forced out in the first half with a knee injury and had to leave Stamford Bridge on crutches.

“We’ll have to scan it tomorrow and see how it is,” Potter said after Chelsea’s win over AC Milan.

“I wouldn’t speculate on it right now, but we’re concerned and hoping for the best.

‘We will support him, but we don’t know yet, tomorrow we will get the scan results. Fingers crossed. There is nothing to report at the moment, but it was the only disappointment of the evening.’
