Four people have been injured in a house fire in Burnham, just outside Christchurch.
Fire and Emergency said they were called just after 2am this morning and the house was ablaze when crews arrived.
Forty firefighters tried to get the fire under control and crews remain on scene.
Hato Hone St John said paramedics treated four patients and took three to Christchurch Hospital.
One person was in serious condition and two were in moderate condition.
