Girl, 15, dies tragically after being hit by bus in Birmingham | UK | News

A 15-year-old girl tragically died after being bitten by a bus Birmingham. The victim was hit by a National Express West Midlands bus on Sheaf Lane, Sheldon just before 3pm GMT on Saturday. Ambulance and fire brigade, together with the police, arrived at the scene. She was then taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.

A tribute has been paid to the teenager on Sheaf Lane with bouquets of flowers and love hearts left by members of the public.

West Midlands Police said the bus driver was currently helping them with their investigation.

PC Gail Arnold, a police spokeswoman, said: “A young girl has tragically passed away and we will do everything we can to support her family at this very distressing time.”

Police are urging the public to come forward and contact them if they have more information about the accident.

“We are working to establish the circumstances behind the collision and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, and especially anyone with dash cam footage,” PC Arnold added.

National Express West Midlands confirmed that one of their buses and stations was involved in the incident.

“Emergency services were on the scene and we will continue to provide all assistance to police as they continue their investigation into what happened.”
