Following the infamous Grand Theft Auto VI leaks, multiple law enforcement agencies have searched for the perpetrator. Now they are said to have found the person, although this has yet to be officially confirmed.

Earlier this week, a hacker obtained footage (and reportedly the source code) of Grand Theft Auto VI from Rockstar’s Slack server. They posted this footage online and revealed the unannounced title to the world. We saw protagonists Jason and Lucia, some dialogue and gameplay. Rockstar has released a statement admitting the violation and expressing its disappointment.

The City of London police today announced they have arrested a 17-year-old in Oxfordshire “on suspicion of hacking”. Reporter Matthew Keys said: sources confirmed that this person was the alleged Rockstar hacker. At the time of writing, this had not been officially confirmed by Rockstar or other law enforcement agencies.

Rockstar Games has assured gamers that the leak will not affect the development of GTA VI. Both Rockstar and Take-Two have attempted to remove the footage from YouTube, Twitter and other social sites.
