Heartstopper Announces Casting Call for Exciting New Role for Season 2

If you are a Heartstopper fan and If you are an aspiring actor then this may be the calling you have been waiting for.

The coming-of-age Netflix drama has achieved a resounding success with its first season, so much so that it is extended by two more terms – with shooting starting later this year.

Starring Kit Connor as Nick Nelson and Joe Locke as Charlie Spring, Heartstopper follows the rugby boy and his old friend as they fall in love and enter into a secret relationship – forced to keep it on the back burner because Nick hasn’t come out yet. .

It’s an emotional rollercoaster to say the least, but the show — based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novels — has millions of fans around the world.

With production for season 2 fast approaching, casting directors have announced they are looking for someone to fill an exciting new role.

The casting call, which was posted on social media, shared that the crew is looking for an oversized actor of British South Asian heritage who identifies as either female or non-binary.

They play the part of Sahar Zahid, a character from the comics that diehard fans hoped would appear in the next series.

Sahar is 16 years old and is in Year 11 at the Higgs School for Girls, which is also attended by Elle Argent, played by Yasmin Finney

The teen is described as “no-nonsense, independent and a little cynical at times.”

Casting directors clarified that Sahar is the only role they will be casting in open auditions, stating that all hopeful candidates should be available by fall 2022, suggesting filming is just around the corner!
