In stomach-churning scenes, Clayton pulled Yolande in for a hug, but slowly moved his hands to the base of her back.

Yolande felt uncomfortable afterwards and in the scenes that followed the pastor placed his hand on her thigh. When she questioned his motives, he suggested she was misinterpreting the situation.

In an attempt to punish Yolande for speaking out, Clayton hired his wife Stella to take over her responsibilities in their charity work, which devastated her considering she had been looking forward to hosting a fundraiser.

So far, no one else knows what Yolande went through, although her behavior in the weeks that followed has piqued Patrick's interest, and the truth will come to light later this week.

Has Howard Saddler appeared in EastEnders before?

In December 2002, he made a cameo appearance as a separate character far removed from his role as Gideon Clayton.

When Jamie Mitchell (Jack Ryder) was rushed to hospital after being hit by Martin Fowler's (then James Alexandrou) car, Howard's character Dr. Daniel Rodford the one who treated him.

It proved to be one of EastEnders' most memorable storylines, as the incident resulted in Jamie's death.

Believing him to be the father of Sonia Jackson's baby Rebecca, she was devastated to learn that she was in fact the daughter of Martin (whom Sonia had slept with before Jamie).

Despite their problems, the couple reconciled, but before they could get married, Martin plowed his car into him outside Walford East tube station.

A devastated Sonia lay by his bedside in hospital before he died.

Martin has referred to Jamie's death in recent years, calling it “the biggest mistake of his life.”
