Horror as man dies after falling from mountain in Snowdonia National Park | UK | News

A man has died after falling from Mount Tryfan in Snowdonia while walking with his two brothers on Monday. The unfortunate incident occurred when the trio strayed too far west during their descent and ended up in the treacherous Y-Gully area.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Service reported the eldest brother slipped and tumbled down the gully, sustaining serious injuries. His siblings, who were unable to descend, called 999 for help.

Several rescue teams were sent to the scene, along with a coast guard helicopter. A spokesman said: “A group of three brothers had climbed the North Ridge of Tryfan.

“During the descent they strayed too far west and ended up in the Y-Gully area. The eldest brother slipped and fell some way down the gully, sustaining significant injuries.”

Unfortunately, despite locating the hikers and escorting team members to the victim's location, it was clear that the man did not survive his injuries. He was evacuated on a stretcher while his brothers were safely strapped in and led to the road where they were met by the Welsh Ambulance Service. North Wales live reports.

“The team's thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
