Game of Thrones‘ long awaited prequel House of the Dragon is getting closer and fans are getting ready to see new and familiar faces.
The new series, set 200 years before the events of the original showwill follow House Targaryen at the height of his power over the Seven Kingdoms, when King Viserys I (Paddy Considine) sat on the Iron Throne.
A game of thrones ensues within the family when the king’s eldest child, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), wants the throne for herself, despite the fact that her terrifying uncle Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), the monarch’s younger brother, is technically next in line when the story begins.

House of the Dragon will be available to stream on Sky Atlantic.
Ahead of the House of the Dragon premiere, former Doctor Who star Matt . teased what viewers can expect from his character Daemonin which he explains that the king’s brother likes to ‘p***’ people.
Speak with Empireadded the Matt: “Daemon is there to cause chaos and scare people off simply because it entertains him.”
Not only could there be rivalry between Daemon and Rhaenyra, but it sounds like Daemon is also going to have a pretty intense political battle with Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), the Hand of the King.
‘[Daemon] and Otto hate each other,’ he said.
“They excite each other, ignite each other. And in the middle is Paddy, who plays Viserys. They both compete for his attention and his love.’
What date does House Of The Dragon start?
Although it will premiere on HBO Max on August 21 in the United States, it has already been confirmed that it will air the following day on August 22 in the UK on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
