A shopper of a THRIFT store opened her emotions when she came across a box containing a treasure trove of recipes.
Meg Gostonczik admitted that the surprising find “broke her heart” after seeing it in a store in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The plain-looking box looked unsuspecting on the shelf and had a $3.99 price tag stuck to it.
In a TikTok clip that has gone viral, she opened it and discovered ancient recipes.
She pulled out a set of instructions detailing how to make marshmallow crispy treats.
Meg captioned the video: “So much love in this little box” before closing it.
She said News Week: “The ones that touched my heart the most were the plastic bags that came neatly folded in the box, one of which was an empty marshmallow bag.”
Dozens of TikTokers flooded the comments, saying the stash of recipes reminded them of their grandmother.

Social media users recalled that their deceased relatives left prescriptions.
Others said they would “cherish” such a box if it were passed down from generation to generation.
One of them tragically said that their grandmother didn’t write down any of her recipes while she was “cooking from memory.”

The envelopes are usually given on Chinese New Year and often contain money as a gift.
The thrifter was stunned and said, “Tell me why I found a legitimate check inside.”
The check was issued for $1 million but had no value to her as it was from 2006 and well past its due date.
