I live in a new build and the garden is terrible – it is constantly flooded and my house is overrun with insect larvae

A WOMAN has revealed that living in a new build is not all it's cracked up to be.

Many assume that new construction means the house and the home garden will be of superior quality, but Chloe from Great Britain says this is not the case.

“Do you have a Nice garden?” she asked.

“Or do you live in new construction?”

Chloe then showed footage of her garden and it was shocking.

The grass no longer existed, but was replaced by muddy mud because the lawn was flooded.

The sad sight showed her children's play equipment sinking into the muddy lawn.

But that wasn't even the worst.

Then she revealed the grim insect pest that was caused by the flooded lawn.

“Cranes prefer moist, vegetative outdoor habitats and are usually only seen around a house on exterior walls and window screens,” report pest experts Orkin Canada.

“They lay their eggs in moist soil and when the larvae emerge, they feed on the roots of grasses, decaying organic matter, decaying wood, vegetation and turf.

Hundreds of larvae could be seen around the back door leading to her garden.

“Three years of leather jackets and poor drainage have resulted in the condition of this… (if you know, you know),” she captioned the post.

Chloe did not reveal whether she had bought or rented the property, adding: “I have not indicated anywhere whether it was bought or by the council. If I bought it I'm stupid and if it's the council I'm a chav & poor. “

The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @missychloexox with over 3 million views and 71,000 likes.

People were quick to share some advice and their own experiences with new construction houses.

Garden tips and hacks

One person wrote: “New construction resident here, we weren't allowed to lay grass or anything for a while because of leather jackets!”

Another commented: “Purchase Astrogras. We did that straight away.”

“This brings back horrible memories for us!! I wouldn't even open my back door, have tried nematodes more times than I can remember. I ended up tearing it all up and putting down artificial grass,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Omg!!!!! I'm always jealous of people in new builds.”

“Mine is like this!!! I don't know how to fix it,” claimed a fifth

Someone else added: “I have a new build and the mines are starting to go like this. I hope I caught it early but from what I've seen it's only getting worse.”
