“That is the brutal cruelty of what this disease has done to Barbara – and what it still does to many of our loved ones,” said the prime minister.

“But we can unite to change that.

“So let’s gather around this national mission in memory of Barbara and in honor of all those we have lost to this cruel disease.”

It’s an essential first step in tackling Britain’s biggest killer, who still has no cure – and Boris rightly sees this as a proud part of his legacy.
