A mum told how all her dreams came true when she bagged a real supermarket broom.

She filled six trolleys in the frantic sprint and walked away with more than £620 worth of goodies, and double that amount for charity.

She's unpacked her freezer and cupboards and thinks she's racked up at least a month's worth of groceries during her exhausting run.

Georgina revealed that this was something she had longed for since watching Dale Winton's hit game show as a child.

She said: “It really was every 90s kid's dream experience.

“Growing up and watching the original show, that was always something I wanted to do. When the opportunity arose, I knew I had to apply.

“The staff made it very exciting and they were my own 'pit crew' as they called themselves.

“It was everything I hoped for.”

A friend shared the applications via a group chat and bartender Georgina got her form out as quickly as possible.

She was stunned when Aldi bosses returned and told her she had won the chance to raid the shelves of the Aberdeen beachfront store.

Because she has two-year-old twins and a four-year-old daughter, she has devised a strategy to obtain essential items.

Everything was up for grabs, except drinks and some special non-food purchases.

Georgina said: “I have three small children so my priorities were the nappies and children's snacks, cat food and meat for our freezer.

“I had a plan of the route I would take for each priority item and I stuck to my plan.

“It happened so fast that I didn't have a chance to catch my breath. I was exhausted.”

She was able to take home everything Georgina collected and chose Cfine food bank as her chosen charity.

She collected £625.87 worth of items and found an inflatable beach ball, meaning Aldi doubled the total and donated it to Cfine.

Georgina said: “I forgot a few things I was hoping to get, like some cleaning products.

“But overall I was happy with what I managed to achieve in those five minutes.

“Luckily I have a large freezer, so I have found space for all the frozen and meat items.

“But most of the stuff is in my cupboard under the stairs for future use.”

Georgina's partner is also a big fan of the original show, which saw the contestants go “wild down the aisles”.

So he was excited for her and just as happy as the children with all the tasty products she brought home from her unusual day out.

Georgina said: “It was a unique experience.

“The Aldi team really made it special and were involved in cheering me on and changing the trolleys when necessary. Many thanks to them.

“If I ever had the chance, I would do it again.”
