Joe Biden meets William and Kate as ‘great boost’ for Earthshot Prize | Royal | News

and Princess of Wales will meet during their three-day trip to the US. The royal couple will be in Boston on Friday for the Earthshot Prize ceremony, after landing at the city’s Logan Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams described the meeting as a “big boost to the great work the Prince and Princess of Wales are doing and a special show of support for the Earthshot Prize”.

Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary, said: “We are still finalizing and working through the details.

“We have no further details on that.”

It is the first trip abroad for the prince and princess since the queen passed away in September at the age of 96.

In a statement on their arrival, the Prince said: “On this, our first overseas visit since my grandmother’s death, I would like to thank the people of Massachusetts and especially of Boston for their many tributes to the late Queen.

“She remembered her bicentennial visit in 1976 with great fondness. My grandmother was one of life’s optimists. And so was I.

He said, “In the years to come, we look forward to continuing a close friendship with The King and The Queen Consort.”

Friday’s awards ceremony will be hosted by host and presenter Clara Amfo alongside actor Daniel Dae Kim, with the winners announced by the Princess of Wales, actor Rami Malek, comedic actor Catherine O’Hara and actor and advocate Shailene Woodley.

Musical performers at the event include Ellie Goulding, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS, Chloe x Halle and Annie Lennox.
