Joe Swash's sister Shana reveals 'normal job' after EastEnders role | Soaps

Shana Swash first appeared on our screens as Demi Miller EastEndersnext to the real brother Joe Swash.

The actress was involved in a hugely controversial storyline that saw Demi give birth at just 13 years old.

The character caught the attention of Albert Square locals when she arrived with her family in 2004 due to her pregnancy.

Shana's life has changed enormously since she left Walford. In 2021 she opened her new one coffee company Swash and Jones.

She also gave birth to her first child, Kitty Frances Swash Jones, last year.

The star recently opened up about juggling her business while starring in the film Love Without Walls.

“It's hard, but I did Love Without Walls right before I opened Swash and Jones. So right now, things happen in really nice moments, where they fall into place,” she explained Express.co.uk.

'I work for myself, so I can come and go as I please, and that's the glory of it. So if something happens, I can keep my mouth shut or I can bring someone in, and I can go do some work.”

She added: 'My social life has suddenly gone from zero to 100, it's so wonderful to have time to spend with friends and family. But yes, that's what I'm always grateful for: working for myself.'

Discussing what it was like opening her business after the coronavirus pandemic, Shana said: “That came from Covid and the lockdown, and not having a job and needing something. It was a real change because I was doing something I always wanted to do.

“So I always say that in a strange way I was kind of grateful to Covid for getting me up and doing it. I have a nice caravan and we sell coffee and delicious sandwiches in the park where I grew up, so at the moment I am happily working for myself.'

The famous face spent two years on Albert Square as part of the Miller family, but was written out of the show in 2006 when Demi left with her mother to live in the Cotswolds.

Since then, she has further developed her acting career, appearing in shows such as Doctors and Top Boy. She has also appeared in independent films, earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the British Independent Film Awards for her role in My Feral Heart.

Shana's brother Joe is married to TV host Stacey Solomon.
