Kelly Osbourne sets record on Ozempic after major weight loss

Kelly Osbourne has said she has 'never' used Ozempic, but has admitted it can be a 'miracle drug in the right hands'.

The FDA-approved drug, also known as semaglutide, is typically used to treat type 2 diabetes.

However, it is also known for its weight loss properties; the main side effect is an appetite suppressant, which is said to aid in losing modest amounts of weight while intoxicated.

Reality TV star and daughter of Black Sabbath icon Ozzy Osbourne and music mogul Sharon OsbourneKelly, 39, has denied using the drug to help shed the 85 pounds she lost after the birth of son Sidney in 2022.

And while she insists she has never used Ozempic herself, Kelly has once again spoken out in her favour, describing it as 'a miracle drug'.

'I should clarify: I have never used Ozempic. “I don't know what Ozempic does to you, other than what I've seen it do to my mother,” she revealed.

“I think this is the silver bullet in the right hands,” Kelly continued in an interview with People magazine.

“The pros outweigh the cons, and if you really research the type of medication and what it can do for you cognitively and what it does for the rest of your body, like I said, it's a miracle cure.”

“For some reason society tries to portray it as something bad. And I don't understand why.

“If you need to lose some weight, who cares how you do it, as long as you do it in a healthy way,” she finished.

This isn't the first time Kelly has raved about using Ozempic as a weight loss aid. singing its praises earlier this year.

“I think it's great and I think it's great for them,” she said AND! News.

'There are a million ways to lose weight, why not do it through something that isn't as boring as exercise?

“People hate it because they want to do it. The people who hate it most are the people who do it in secret or are angry because they can't afford it.

'Unfortunately it is now something that is very expensive, but that will no longer be the case in the long term, because it really works.'

Again, Kelly only spoke about the drug in relation to mother Sharon's use caused her to lose 40 pounds after a series of injections.

'I've always wanted… [weight loss] now. The injections I received worked and it seems I can't put anything in now,” Sharon told the newspaper Loose women panel.

'When you go downstairs, you turn everything back on. It's a constant thing. I have lost over 40 kilos. If I could, I would gain another 10 pounds,” she added.

The Osbourne matriarch joins a host of famous faces who have admitted to using the drug to lose weight – including Boy George and Botched Doctor Terry Dubrow.

The use of Ozempic as a weight loss aid is not without controversy – leading to warnings from health professionals and a shortage of supply for those in medical need.

Many have dismissed Kelly's comments as “dangerous” and “irresponsible,” which promotes body image issues and harms those in genuine need.

“Rich people have easy access to healthy food options, personal trainers and chefs, but they choose to use ozempic that is not intended for them and causes shortages for those who really need them,” wrote X user TaraAngel94.

“Shame on her. People like her are causing shortages and rising prices of Ozemic, which helps so many diabetes patients. My friend, who used to get this through the NHS in the UK, now had to get it through private sources and pay £1,500 for a few pens. People can't afford it now,” bucky_astir said.
