Legal advice: 'I think my father's drug conviction is hindering my career. Does he have the right to be forgotten?'

The incident is easy to find by searching my last name online, but I would like the reports of it to be cleared

Ask: Dear Mary Frances, I am writing to seek advice on an issue that has been bothering me for some time. My father was convicted decades ago of using 'angel dust' growth hormones, which became illegal in Ireland. This is something he deeply regrets and is ashamed of to this day.

It was in the newspapers at the time and was extremely embarrassing for us as a family. It had a major impact on my parents' relationship and to this day it is still not talked about openly.
