The Met Office said: 'Today, sunny spells and heavy showers will develop across most of Britain, some of which will be heavy and slow, with isolated thunder.

'Cloudier in the southeast with heavy and persistent rain. It feels warm in every sunshine.”

Emphasis on “every sunshine” here. Weather officials add that the rain that has been coming down all day will taper off tonight and feel a bit cooler.
