She certainly made life easier for her co-stars Tom Daley, Adel Roberts and David Morrissey, later crowned Star Baker.

Lucy took the criticism to heart and joked afterwards: ‘I had a nice day out. I would like to win the apron, but I’m not funny, I have aprons at home.’

Out of earshot, Paul told Prue Leith and hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas: “It’s definitely one of the worst pies we’ve ever seen in the tent!”

After a decision was made, Noel couldn’t resist digging at Lucy when he announced the winner.

He said in his announcement to the tent: “The winner of Star Baker is Lucy… No, of course not,” before adding, “If it were up to me, you’d be the winner.”

But viewers really went wild with Tom Daley’s very sassy appearance on the show.

The 28-year-old Olympic diver caused fan hysteria when he made some X-rated jokes about the “circumference” of a large rolling pin while smashing a quiche with questionable decoration.

The knitting enthusiast even revealed his plans to produce a willow warmer for Judge Paul during a nerve-racking conversation with host Matt.

Clocking his insinuations, Twitter users rushed to the platform to share their humor.

One of them wrote: ‘What would you knit for Paul? A Willy warmer says @TomDaley1994 lol #GBBO.’

Another added: “Tom Daley has already raised so many double entendres and eyebrows on camera on #GBBO that he might as well pitch The Great British Knit-Off to Love Productions now and be done with it.”

A third wrote: ‘Never mind, Tom Daley knows exactly what he’s doing when he talks about girth. He wants these thirsty gays #GBBO.”

Someone else said, ‘I’m not going to lie, @TomDaley1994 talking about a cumbersome rolling pin got me more excited than it should have been! #GBBO.’

Another concluded, “Laughing at Tom’s presentation of his quiche #GBBO.”
