Paul Parker thinks Gareth Southgate should turn it down Manchester United three of Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw in choosing his English team for Euro 2024 this summer.

Parker, a former Red Devils and Three Lions star himself, believes the three men haven't done enough to deserve a call-up, while he also believes Harry Maguire shouldn't be in the team ahead of Marc Guehi Crystal Palace.

The 60-year-old believes Shaw's fitness has cost him dearly, while Rashford's form is too poor and Mainoo is not the best option in central midfield.

'It would be madness Gareth Southgate to take Luke ShawParker said MyBettingSites.co.uk. 'He didn't play football. He has hardly played in the past five years. He starts blocking people and pulling people to him when the game isn't going his way because he's not doing the hard work.

“You can't take Luke Shaw with you. [Chelsea’s Ben] Chilwell has also hardly played. You don't know if he will stay fit.

'But you might find that out if they are selected England they will fight through the pain and know what the reward will be if they win.”

'Rashford can't go either. He hasn't done enough. There's no way he can go. He can't do that. If Southgate is true to his word when he took over, he must pick players based on form. You can't take Rashford with you.'

'Kobby? I don't think England can get him. There are players who have done better. Since he made his England debut he has struggled a bit, so picking him means he won't start and you'll be taking him for a month when he probably needs a break.

“It would be better for him to have some free time and be with his friends, rather than walking around a hotel.”

Parker does think Maguire will go to the Euros and play, although he would prefer to see Guehi on the left side of central defence.

“Southgate will opt for Maguire even though Marc Guehi is a better left-wing centre-back,” said the former full-back. 'He only plays for United because Martinez is injured.'
