Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta feels Bukayo Saka has a 'different advantage' after Saturday's 3-0 Premier League victory over AFC Bournemouth.

Arteta was left delighted by his side drove past the in-form Cherries with a clean sheet to keep up the pressure on their title rivals Manchester City.

Saka was particularly impressive as he became the first Englishman to score 20 goals for Arsenal in a single season since Theo Walcott in the 2012/2013 season.

He was one of four players to praise Arteta after the match at the Emirates, while Saka was too praised by his teammate Kai Havertz.

Arteta, asked about Saka in his post-match press conference, said: 'The level of consistency compared to last year is very similar.

'There are areas he is better at. I see another advantage for him in the way he competes. He likes to win, more than three months ago.”

Speaking to the BBC, Arteta also praised the performances of midfield duo Thomas Partey and Declan Rice, as well as Havertz.

'[Thomas Partey was] very important,” Arteta added. “He has a different level of presence.

'He dominates in the middle of the park and the team needs that. He also has the experience and that is what the team needs.

'You don't play at that level if all the players aren't exceptional. [Declan] Rice and Kai Havertz were great. I thought [Havertz] was excellent today.'

Meanwhile, Arteta joked he would don Wolves' 'pajamas' as he watched their match against Pep Guardiola's side in the hope City would drop points.

Asked if he would wear a Wolves shirt later on Saturday, Arteta said: 'No, pajamas! I'll be sitting there with my children and my family.'

However, there was no chance of City dropping points as they took a 3-0 lead at half-time thanks to Erling Haaland's hat-trick.
