Leafy vegetables extracted from the hollow – 127.4 million
LA-based thekidzdentist shared this TikTok video showing bits of what looks like food being pulled from a cavity
More chlorophyll appears as a hook continues to dig into the hollow in a video viewed by more than 127 million people
This video shows a close-up of a person’s mouth with the camera focused on their back teeth – one with a sizable cavity.
A small hook can be seen scraping food out of the cavity, or “tooth poop” as he likes to call it in some videos, eliciting squeamish reactions from viewers.
First up is a small yellow piece of rubble before a second excavation yields a few leafy greens.
They all disappear into a suction tube, revealing the true size of the cavity.
“Bro ate a whole meal there,” one person wrote in the comments.
‘How come?’ said another TikTok user, adding a crying face emoji.
Others said they brushed their teeth after watching this video.
The video has been viewed more than 1,207 million times since its October release.
‘What does it matter?’ – 4.6 million views
A second video shows more food being extracted from a larger cavity
The TikTok creator’s shared videos have been viewed by millions and this one is no exception.
In this second video, what appears to be food is pulled from yet another cavity – and it keeps coming.
“Looks like he’s cleaning but is actually cooking,” was one person’s response.
“Bros has tomatoes (sic), peanuts and pickle,” another TikTok user speculated.
A third quipped, “Good soup.”
Soft Tooth Decay – 1.6 million views
This third video shows the beginning of a root canal where a drill removes tooth decay
A broader view of how much soft decay has affected this person’s teeth
Another video shows how to remove tooth decay to do a root canal, using a dental drill.
“We’re going to the core of this tooth, honey,” says the pediatric dentist.
“This is the first step to a root canal and what we need to do is open up the tooth, access it, make it all the way big so we can use our drill and get all the decay out.
‘All that brown stuff, that’s soft decay. That’s bad.
“Eventually we can get to the nerve canals… We’ll see a thick succulent nerve and then be able to remove it, that’s the beginning of a root canal.”
Cavities and tooth decay are “permanently damaged areas in the hard surface of your teeth that develop into small gaps or cavities,” according to the Mayo clinic.
It is “caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria in your mouth, frequent snacking, sipping sugary drinks, and not cleaning your teeth properly.”
‘Tooth goop’ – 5.1 million views
“What’s stuck in this huge cavity?” asks the pediatric dentist in this video’s caption.
“That’s definitely rice,” one person speculated.
Other guesses included “coconut” and an “egg sunny side up.”
Whatever it is, it was a moment people couldn’t stop watching.

‘Tartar Alert’ – 8.2 million views
A lot of plaque comes off these teeth. Some videos show plaque that has built up over the years
It’s not just the cavity videos that are driving the views.
This video shows tartar that has built up over the years.
“This is a serious buildup of tartar… Tartar is hardened dental plaque that sticks to the teeth like calcified rock,” says the pediatric dentist.
‘It’s a mix of bacteria, food and minerals from saliva. This serious case stems from years of not brushing properly.’
There also seems to be a hair in the plaque after it has been ripped from the teeth.
“So gratifying to see that removed,” one person wrote.
But most people were surprised at how long it went untreated.
‘Baby Bottle Syndrome’ – 1.4 million views
“Baby bottle syndrome” occurs when a toddler sleeps with a bottle filled with milk, juice, or sugary liquids
Another dental problem that the pediatric dentist likes to talk about is the ‘baby bottle syndrome’.
He shared a video of a young child’s front teeth worn down as “a toddler sleeps with a bottle or drinking cup filled with milk, juice or sugary liquids.”
The Colgate website further describes the type of tooth decay: ‘Part of the liquid from the bottle remains behind the front teeth of the sleeping child.
‘The bacteria that cause cavities then have all the time and sugars to attack the enamel of those little teeth.’
