Neve Campbell is 'grateful' that Studio listened to concerns about Pay

No Campbell shared that Spyglass Media Group increased its salary Scream VII after previously leaving the franchise due to a salary dispute.

Come on Scream VIthe actress said in 2022 that she would not return to the blockbuster slasher series because she “felt that the offer presented to me did not equate to the value I brought to the franchise.” However, this became known in March Campbell would perform again her character Sidney Prescott in the upcoming seventh episode.

While the Wild things Actress is excited to return to her character that she has known for 30 years, she also recently said People magazine that she is “very grateful that the studio heard me when I spoke about pay disparities and when I spoke about it [Scream VI negotiations] not a respectful feeling.”

She added: “When they first approached me [for Scream VII ]I thought, 'I don't know what being respectful to them looks like. We could be in very different places.” But they started in a strong place, so that was wonderful.”

Campbell noted that since the tone of the negotiations was completely different than before, it changed her view on the possibility of returning for the Kevin Williamson-directed sequel.

“It feels nice to have put that out into the world, that you were listened to and that you made a difference in that way,” she said. “I hope other people get that opportunity too.”

Campbell's return came after the horror franchise suffered several setbacks last year, including Jenna Ortega's departureMelissa Barreras high-profile shooting and director Christopher Landon's departure.

To celebrate her casting announcement, the House of cards actress wrote earlier on Instagram: “Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!! It has always been a blast and an honor to play Sidney in the Scream films. My appreciation for these films and what they have meant to me has never diminished. I am very happy and proud to say that I have been asked in the most respectful way to bring Sidney back to the screen and I couldn't be happier!!!”
