New Tottenham signing Clement Lenglet on lures of Antonio Conte and Hugo Lloris assisting in first interview

lement Lenglet talked about the temptation of working with manager Antonio Contea and a helping hand from captain Hugo Lloris after becoming Tottenhamfifth summer signing.

The central defender has been hired from Barcelona ahead of the season, in a deal that doesn’t include an option to make the move permanent.

Lenglet, who has capped 15 caps for the French national team, brings trophies experience in Spain and is expected to compete for a spot in Conte’s back three.

Lenglet told Spurs fans what to expect from him, telling the club’s official website: “I want to be a good team-mate, a defender who can be aggressive and help the group win the ball.

“It’s a great time to work [with Antonio Conte] and learn everything he knows about football.”

The move has reunited Lenglet with his captain of the French national team in Lloris, who has been instrumental in the arrival of the defender.

Lenglet said: “Hugo is a Tottenham legend. I’ve been talking to Hugo a lot to learn more about the city and everything to make sure I’m having a good time with my family in London.”

He added: “When you talk to a player who plays in the Premier League, they say it’s a wonderful league where you fight every week and it’s very hard to win.

“I want to play and win a lot of games to fight at the top of the table. It would be a dream to win a trophy with Tottenham.”
