Omni One VR Treadmill Ships to Early Investors

Virtuix has unveiled the final version of its Omni One VR treadmill, which is now shipping to early investors.

After a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2020, it is consumer-oriented Omni One has been coming for a long time. Originally targeting the second half of 2021, Jan Goetgeluk, CEO and founder of Virtuix, claims they faced a “challenging development process”, citing issues related to COVID-19 and supply chain shortages.

Virtuix claims strong interest in the Omni One, with a “waiting list” of more than 35,000 interested parties awaiting a wider consumer launch later this year. 900 of Virtuix’s crowdfunding investors have applied for an Omni One beta unit, with wider release to follow once the beta program ends in late 2023, Virtuix claims. Inspired by Virtuix’s commercial Omni Pro VR treadmill, the Omni One was designed as a more compact option designed to fit into your living room, where it functions as a complete entertainment unit. Previously shown with a Pico Neo 2Virtuix links the final version to a Pico Neo 3 Pro standalone headset, with a unique operating system, social features and “its own game store targeting 30 titles at launch”.

Virtuix claims that Omni One will receive a wider consumer launch later this year, at an introductory price of $2,595 plus shipping (including the Pico Neo 3 Pro). Virtuix claims that unit quantities “start small and gradually increase as the program progresses.”
