One person had to be cut from their vehicle this morning after two cars collided on Scandrett St in Invercargill.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the collision.

A police spokeswoman said a woman in one of the vehicles, a red Toyota Vitz, had to be cut from her vehicle by firefighters.

“She was transported to hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries,” the spokeswoman said.

There were no other injuries to the occupants of the other vehicle.

The incident happened around 9:40 am.

Scandrett St. was cordoned off for a time.
