The serious crash unit attended a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning on the Main Road, near Mt Pleasant.
One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries after firefighters and first responders from Christchurch Central and Woolston provided first aid.
The accident happened at about 1:20 a.m., although the road reopened at 6:00 a.m. Hato St. John has also been approached for comment.
