Prince Harry puts bucket on head and eats Maltesers off the floor at children's party | Royal | News

Happy Prince Harry is back as he dives into the fun of a children's party – even eating Maltesers off the floor as part of the festivities.

It's been a while since Britain had one more relaxed Duke of Sussex – but that side of his personality came through very clearly at a fun event organized by charity Scotty's Little Soldiers to support the grieving children of military personnel.

On someone else whistle stop tour During his trip to Britain, Harry got into the spirit of the party: he put a bucket on his head to entertain the children and took first place in a strawberry lace eating competition.

Moments before arriving at the party, the prince took off his jacket and pelted him as children pelted him with plastic balls. He was also on the winning team for the fastest consumption of a strawberry candy.

Unfortunately, the Prince was less successful with another board game: rolling Maltesers with a ruler in someone's mouth. But all the dropped chocolates were eaten by Harry, picking them up from the floor and eating them.

Harry was asked how many Maltesers he had eaten off the floor and he said: “at least three.” He added: “That's when things started to get a bit weird.”

The Duke was also treated to a Lego figure of himself which he happily took with him.

Prince Harry said: “What Scotty's is doing with these children is absolutely incredible and very necessary,” reports the BBCwho received exclusive access to the event.

He added: “The more opportunities you have to host these types of events, the more families and children know this place exists, which is really the most important thing.”

The children at the party had all experienced the death of a parent and Harry shared his experience with them and gave advice on how to cope.

Scotty's Little Soldiers was founded by Nikki Scott after her husband Lee was killed in Afghanistan in 2009.

She said, “I could imagine Prince Harry I got so much out of that room and had so much fun and joy that I bet he's probably thinking about those kids right now because it makes you think, it really makes you think, these kids are incredible,” reports the BBC.

The entrance to the party comes after the Duke visited London for an Invictus Games ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral.

However, he did not see his father, King Charles, despite being just a few miles away at a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

He and his wife Meghan now embark on a visit to Nigeria, where they will follow a busy travel schedule including watching a volleyball match and visits to military hospitals and charities in Abuja and Lagos.
