Prosecutors allege nurse tried to smuggle cocaine and weed into jail for rapper Gunna

During a hearing on Thursday, July 7, prosecutors revealed this alleged incident as one of the reasons why he should be held in prison. Prosecutors say the nurse was caught on May 14 smuggling “a bag full of marijuana and cocaine” into the Fulton County jail.

When a sheriff’s deputy approached her about the alleged drugs, the nurse allegedly dropped it and “left”. Prosecutors alleged that some of the drugs were intended for Gunna.

Gunna, who appeared in virtual court, asked for his release on the basis of an “extreme bail that would include house arrest and recorded phone lines”.

However, a judge feared that Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, could threaten or intimidate witnesses if he were released ahead of trial. As a result, he must remain in prison until January 2023, when his trial begins.

On Thursday, prosecutors in court claimed that some of the drugs were intended for Gunna — a claim his lawyer is calling false.

“All they’re looking for is for their son to get a fair chance, and they don’t think that’s happening yet,” attorney Steve Sadow said, describing Gunna’s parents’ reaction to the judge’s decision to grant Mr. to reject their loved one. band.

The judge was concerned that the Atlanta rapper, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, could threaten or intimidate witnesses if he released him before trial.

“None of the allegations made today, these so-called new allegations, are correct,” Sadow told Channel 2’s Michael Seiden.

Gunna is one of 28 suspects charged in a sweeping criminal gang indictment that accuses fellow rapper Young Thug of being the leader of Young Slime Life (YSL). Gunna turned herself in on May 11 and was charged with conspiracy to break a RICO law.
