Russia-Ukraine War: Vladimir Putin Accuses West of Waging a Proxy War on Russia

RUSsia has not taken any land in Ukraine for the first time in the war this week, as it appeared to halt large-scale offensive operations in Donbas ahead of another attack.

A Russian missile attack on Kramatorsk has killed at least one civilian and injured six others, despite the slowdown in frontline fighting.

Small-scale fighting was reported elsewhere as Moscow tried to keep the defenders under pressure.

Wednesday was the first day since the start of the war that Russia had not claimed to have made national gains, nor was it estimated to have made territorial gains, the Institute for the Study of War, a US think tank, said Thursday.

The silence may indicate that Moscow is taking an “operational pause” to reconstitute its forces for an attack on Ukraine’s strongholds of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
