Samsung has been riding the AI buzzword heavily since January and apparently has no plans to stop. On the contrary, it seems like the company plans to spread AI to as many parts as possible, including the batteries in the next series of flagships.
According to a new report, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+And Galaxy S25Ultra comes with “Battery AI”. This will somehow magically extend the life of their batteries by up to 10%.
Chinese competitors have generally extended the lifespan of their respective Galaxy S rivals this year by simply fitting a ~10% larger battery, but that's too simple for Samsung (and means it can't AI-ify another part of the phone). So instead of an actual increase in battery capacitySamsung will give us AI to compensate.
Whether or not that's the case doesn't matter: why not, for example, put a 5,500 mAh cell in the S25 Ultra and use this magical Battery AI on top of that at the same time? It's a question that probably won't get an answer, but we had to ask it anyway.
Today's rumor continues that Battery AI will eliminate non-essential tasks to increase overall runtime without affecting the phone's performance. So it will probably not be a downclock of the CPU and GPU, which is good news. Further details about this are not yet available.
