Text messages sent by a female teacher accused of sleeping with two of her students and getting pregnant by one have been revealed.

Messages from 30-year-old Rebecca Joynes show the maths teacher telling a boy to come to her house, telling him “it's only you” as the pair joked about another student joining them added when they met.

Other texts showed the boy claiming he didn't like math lessons because he was “too distracted,” which Joynes said could be “better” because of the work.

Joynes, currently on bail awaiting trial, deleted the messages after performing a factory reset telephonebut they were recovered by police after contacting the network provider.

Messages sent to Boy A by Rebecca Joynes

The schoolboy, also called Boy A, claims Joynes took him to Selfridges in the Trafford Center and bought him a £345 belt before taking him back to her flat.

Prosecutors allege the pair had sex twice that night after the teen lied to his mother about staying with a friend.

After having unprotected sex for the second time, he allegedly told his teacher, “I hope to God you don't get pregnant.”

The schoolboy previously told police that 'anyone in my position' would have agreed to go back to his 'good-looking' maths teacher's apartment for sex.

Joynes is on trial at Manchester Crown Court accused of 'grooming' her former student, who denied fabricating the allegations against Joynes because she rejected his advances.

During cross-examination, Katy Appleton, defending, asked the teenager: “Are you worried about what your friends would say if they found out she had rejected you.”

“No,” he replied.

Ms Appleton asked the boy if he felt 'embarrassed' and 'angry' because Joynes had 'rejected' him, which he denied. She had suggested that the boy's claims about Joynes had increased his “status” at school.

She then asked if he felt more popular or if his social status “got a boost” as a result of what happened between him and Joynes, to which he also replied “no.”

Further questioning from Ms Appleton revealed that the boy agreed that he had gone to Joyne's flat because 'he wanted something sexual to happen between them', but he denied having had a conversation with her about their sexual history from the past.

Ms Appleton claims Joynes 'reluctantly' let the boy stay overnight as long as he slept on her sofa, and asked the boy if he felt 'embarrassed' about making up sexual claims.

She claimed that “at no time” did Joynes engage in sexual acts with the boy, whom she accused of lying, which he denied.

A friend of the boy initially covered for him by going along with the story that he was staying at his home, the court heard.

But later he became concerned and asked his mother to drive them to pick up the boy from Joynes' apartment.

He told the boy that Joynes had “groomed” him, but he replied, “No, I didn't, I loved it.”

The friend's mother then called the boy's 'hysterical' mother to tell her what had happened and she contacted the school.

Police launched an investigation in October 2021 and Joynes was subsequently charged over Boy A and suspended by her school.

The court released her on bail on the condition that she would not contact a child under the age of 18. It later emerged that while on bail she had begun a long-term relationship with a second child and became pregnant with his child.

Joynes is said to have had sex with the 16-year-old – known as Boy B – at her flat 'at least 30 times' after they started messaging each other on Snapchat.

The initial messages were not of a sexual nature, he said, but soon became flirty and saw Joynes sending him revealing photos of herself.

“As a 16-year-old kid, I thought I was in there,” he said.

Joynes' defense claims Boy A is lying about their relationship

He said their relationship was progressing and he asked if they could meet and Joynes invited him to her flat in Salford.

“I went to her and it was kind of awkward at first because she didn't want to get caught and I was nervous because I was meeting someone twice your age who I've known for years,” he said.

He said that when he arrived at the apartment, he asked Joynes, “Don't I even get a kiss.”

They had kissed, but Joynes told her she didn't know if they should do that “before you leave school.”

But they had continued kissing before going into her bedroom and having sex, he said.

He said this was the first time they had sex, but they went on to have sex at least 30 times in “numerous different places.”

The boy said he was aware that Joynes had been arrested and released on bail on charges relating to Boy A, who sat next to him in class.

He said Joynes told him the conditions of her bail meant she could not contact children under 18.

But one day she had simply said yes when he asked to meet, driving to meet him from her mother's cafe in Wirral, where she was working at the time.

Joynes denies two counts of sexual activity with Boy A, two counts of sexual activity with Boy B and two counts of sexual activity with Boy B while a person in a position of trust.

The trial, expected to last two weeks, continues.
